August Re-Cap

Cousin time! We spent the weekend at a cabin with my family at the beginning of August.
Megan's grandma made a fun fishing game for all the grandkids to play.
We went boating, golfing, played games, and watched the Olympics. Megan especially loved playing in the hot tub with her cousins.

One night Greg joined the neighborhood kids for some night-games in his brother's back yard. As you can see he was the King of the Hill and the life of the party.

Isn't summer the best?

I've been in the mood to paint something for a while so I was happy to find four of these cute chairs in need of a makeover. I think they turned out quite pretty.

Easter Weekend

One of our Easter traditions is getting together with Greg's family for a dutch oven dinner and egg hunt at Stansbury Island in the Great Salt Lake.

The Princess is 4!

In February we celebrated Megan's special day with a
Pink Princess Party

I was so happy with how her cake turned out--it probably helped that she made me watch the YouTube video of how to make it a million times:)

This year was Megan's first friend party.

I drew and colored a poster so they could play Pin the Crown on the Princess.

Dad's gift was a pink baseball mitt and ball fit for a princess.

Last year was our first experience with a pull-string pinata. Megan pulled the first string and all the candy fell out so the other kids didn't even get a turn to pull a string. This year we decided to give the pull-string another go and the exact opposite happened. The kids took turns pulling off all the strings and...nothing happened. We had to break open the bottom and shake the candy out. I think we might just skip the pinata next year!
