Greg's great-grandparents immigrated from Italy, so to keep family traditions alive, we have started gathering with his family for Epiphany Day each year around the beginning of January. Epiphany Day celebrates the Three Kings' visit to the Christ child on the 12th day after Christmas.
In Italian folklore, La Befana is an old woman who delivers gifts to children throughout Italy on Epiphany Eve. She brought Megan a game this year.
The main event of the day is a giant Italian feast, using family recipes, and including homemade noodles. Everyone pitches in and shouted reminders to "stir the sauce!" can be heard throughout the day. The kids always have to attempt to break their 'longest noodle' record.
Megan loves any chance to play with cousins.
Delizioso!
Ciao!
